_About Trio Manouche

TTHE NU GYPSY

(Simon Harris)

Simon Harris formed Trio Manouche out of his passion for Gypsy Jazz music and out of his background in both Classical and Jazz music. He has played with many of the leading exponents of this style which stems from Django Reinhardt and the music he was producing with Stephane Grappelli & Le Hot Club De France in the 1920s and 30s. The infectious foot-tapping grooves and catchy recognisable melodies created are perfect to loosen up and enhance the atmosphere for any event,  whilst adding an air of sophistication and freshness. Simon has used his compositional talents to create a handful of his own original pieces within the style adding his own unique flavour to the music.

" Trio Manouche bring another take on the ever evolving music that has stemmed from the gypsy campfires - as the tribes of gypsies spread out around the world they assimilated the music of the lands they passed through added something fresh and made it gypsy - Simon and the guys are continuing this process and producing some fine music along the way! "
